Ancient India -I

In ancient time India is well known as BHARAT .The origin of the ancient India found in the region around Indus valley mostly known as sindhu valley & arya was the resident of ancient India at Vedic period. Arya civilization was the one of the oldest and richest civilization. The boundaries of ancient India had covered India, Afghanistan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. In ancient time India is known as BHARAT .India had ruled by the different monarchs (rulers) from the approximately 1700bc up to 1947. Today the sindhu valley located in Pakistan and today’s Afghanistan is known as gandhar in ancient time.From ancient time the india is the biggest market place for silk and spices .Many empires were lost in war and new empires raised with his flag ,the boundaries were changed this all things had made huge great impact on the India. The different monarchs who ruled India try establish their own civilization, religion and culture. This is the reason that India has to many religion, cultures and languages.

Civilization Started at Sindhu Valley

Magadha Empire (1700 BC-550 AD)
 
Magadha Empire is the first biggest empire of the ancient India. King Dhananand was a mighty king of the Ma,sindhu vallygadha Empire who imposes huge tax on his civilization. The Great Chandragupta Maurya founded the Maurya Empire (322 BC-298 BC) by defeating the king Dhananand Chandragupta Maurya was dreamed to unify the India means AKHAND BHARAT. The great Indian scholar Chanakya also known as Vishugupta was the legal advisor of the Chandragupta Maurya. Chanakya was a professor of economics at the ancient Takshshila University.Takshshila University was the biggest university at the time of ancient India. After the Chandragupta Maurya his grandson.The Great Ashoka (273 BC–232 BC) was the first Maurya emperor who fulfilled the Chandragupta maurya's dream of AKHAND BHARAT



Ashoka planned to conquer land of Kalinga, present day the region of kalinga is known as Orissa. The great Ashoka led a huge force to fought battle with of Kalinga. The Kalinga not had trained army as the great Ashoka but then also each civilian of kalinga fought for his motherland. Result of the kalinga battle is unexplainable. The battle fought on the Dhauli hills which are located near the banks of River Daya. The whole land of kalinga turned into the battle place. The thousands of Kalinga warrior & Ashoka`s force died in battle of kalinga. The battle was ended with victory of Great Ashoka. After the conquer the kalinga he had saw, kalinga land colored with blood ,there was no civilians to  ruled.Old civilians are cried beside the dead bodies. This made his heart to shame and guilt. The great ashoka realise his mistake.Edict no. 13 on the Edicts of Ashoka Rock reflect what the great Ashoka felt after observing the annihilation of Kalinga. He had adopts the Buddhism to spread peace and love. The great Ashoka send His son Mahendra and daughter Sangamitra to Sri Lanka for spread Buddhism.

The noticeable thing is that in ashoka time all the important messages are embossed on the rock. Many of the  rock edicts are still alive. The great Ashoka had made several pillar and rock edicts to spread his messages.




Maurya Empire 

Satavahana Empire (230 BC – 199 AD)

Satavahana empire was the another Emperor of ancient india in his rule he tries to capture the south india and srilanka .The most instructing  thing about the Satavahana civilization was people used mother name before their name like king ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’.In Satavahana empire mother is the more honorable person in the family than father. Still in some places in south India people used their mother name instead of their father name.
