Agra




City was established by Sultan Lodi the ruler of the Delhi in 1504. After the Sultan's death the city passed on to his son sultan Ibrahim lodi.He ruled Agra until he defeated by Babar in the battle of panipat.The agra has golden days in mughal empire. Agra was known as Akbarabad and remained the capital of the Mughal Empire under the Emperors Akbar,Jahangir and Shah Jahan.Babar grand son akbar built great red fort,Akbar also built a new city on the out side of Akbarabad called Fatehpur sikri.Badashaha Akbar's son Jahangir construct many gardens inside the red fort.After the mughal empire, the city is ruled by The Great Maratha's and then the city came under the rule of British Empire in 1803.

The beautiful Taj Mahal is constructed in white marbal. The mughal king shah jahan known for his great structure Taj Mahal, which is built in loving memory of his wife mumtaz.All the mughal construction constructed in red sand stone but shah jahan constructed Taj in white marbal. Shah jahan wanted to make this construction unique for that purpose he hired skilled workers from the afganistan and parshia.Taj is also known as the symbol of love.The construction of Taj Mahal started in 1632 and completed in 1643.This take approximately 11 years to complete.The Mughal emperor shah jahan cuts down the hand of worker who built this beautiful Taj Mahal after the completion of Taj Mahal. 

MEHTAB BAGH
The Mehatab Bagh is situated opposite to the bank of river yamuna from the Taj Mahal.It is one of the beautiful garden in agra city.Many people visit the Mehtab Bagh as it exactly opposite to taj mahal.

 DIWAN-E-AAM
Agra Fort was built by the mughal emperor Akbar in 1565.The fort was constructed  in beautiful red sandstone.Shah Jahan converted agra fort into the palace during shah jahan time.The most attractive buildings in the fort are include the Khas mahal,Shish Mahal,Diwan-e-Khas(only special guest and family members are allow in this building),Diwan-e-Aam(common peoples can interact with king directly for their daily life problems),Jahangir palace and Moti Masjid.The fort is still strong showing his beauty and strength of the Mughal Architecture.

FATEHPUR SIKRI

The Mughal emperor Akbar built fatehpur sikri about 34-35 km from agra.The Mughal emperor Babar defeat king rana sanga in the battel of sikri.In urdu fateh means victory.hence this place named as fatehpur sikri.Akbar moved his capital from agra to fatehpur sikri.The mughal king Akbar  built a fort at fatehpur sikri.he also built a big gate called Buland Darwaza in 1601 to celebrate his victory over Gujarat(Sourashtra).The Buland darwaza is approximately 52-53 m in height and 35 m in width.It is made of red carved sandstone as all other Mughal constructions are built.

AKBAR TOMB AT SIKANDARABAD

Mughal emperor Akbar lastly rest at sikandarabad about 13 km from the agra fort.Akbar himself  planned his own tomb and selected a suitable site for it.Construction of this pyramidal tomb was completed by Jahangir in 1913.The Akbar's tomb contain 99 different name of allah.

KEETHAM LAKE OR SUR SAROVAR 

Keetham lake is also known as Sur Sarovar,keetham Lake is Situated about 6 -7 km from Akbar tomb.The lake has an variety of aquatic life and water birds.

RAM BAGH OR AARAM BAGH 

Ram bagh is also known as aaram bagh which is one of the oldest mughal garden in india which was built by the mughal emperor babar in 1528 on the bank of yamuna.It lies about 2km from the Taj mahal.The garden is designed such that the wind flowing over the yamuna keep the place cool even during the peak of summer.

Agra city is famous for it's sweet dist Petha.Petha is very famous in North india and some region of Pakistan.Many flavor's are available in petha like kesar petha,anguri petha,etc.

Wodiyar Empire


Wodiyar Empire was the one of the oldest empire of the India. The most memorable emperor from Wodiyar Empire was Krishnaraja Wodiyar IV who the ruled under sultan Hyder Ali. Krishna IV was the ruler of the Wodiyar dynasty of Mysore 1902 AD-1940 AD. The Krishnaraja Wodiyar was most famous for his kindness and secular vision. Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodiyar understands the need of time he construct many hospitals, collages, power plant in his empire.


British Empire

1600 East India Company Britain shows interest in trading across the globe. The East India Company was the most important and famous trading company from Britain. British troops in the service of the East India Company defeat the French and the Indians who support the French troops in Battle of Plassey in 1757. This victory increases the power of British Empire. Increasing British strength made East India Company of Britain mush stronger. British Government made many positive changes in India. The ritual of Sati was banned by the British Government in 1829.This was the great change in Indian Hindu history made by British. In 1877 Queen Victoria was crowned as the Empress of India.
